Can't Beat This For the Money

This is now my second time staying at the Tropicana. The location is great. Right near the blue chairs beach. The staff is courteous and quick to respond when there is a concern. The grounds are are not that of a world class resort but is kept immaculate. This time i stayed in a superior room. The room is very basic but worth every penny. Great views from the balcony. Our room was also spotless after each cleaning. I do have 2 quibbles about the room though. First, the beds are hard as a rock. Second, the air conditioner units are loud. Don't get me wrong the A/C worked great but it was so loud I had trouble hearing others in the room. For an ocean front on the Los Muertos beach it can not be beat. Trying to book this hotel is not the easiest since i have not been able to find it on travelocity or any of the other major travel sites. Both stays I used vallartaonline.com and have no problems at all. All my requests were fulfilled. When I do return to Puerto Vallarta I will stay here again.

Commment about The Blue Shrimp

Some of the best shrimp ever

2nd time here. This time was better then the first. The shrimp was incredible. There was 3 of us and on the recommendation of the waiter we ordered the shrimp boat. The shrimp boat contains 4 types of shrimp. There was so much that the 3 of us could not finish all of them. The Portuguese shrimp was incredible.

Commment about Ritmos Beach Café

Great Service and even better prices

3 times to Puerto Vallarta and each time I make sure to find a spot of the beach in front of Ritmos. The service is the great and the food is good. If i have any one complaint about Ritmos is the overly loud music the play. Eveyday when I settle my bill i am always shicked how low it is.

Commment about La Palapa

Great Location and Good Food

I love this beach front restaurant. Not really a beach front restaurant but an on the beach restaurant. The service is good but the this place is all about the location. There is even table service on the beach. I had breakfast here 2 times this trip and liked it. The crepes are great and the french toast was good. My partner loved the breakfast quesadilla he ordered it 2 times.

Commment about Vista Grill

Location, Location, Location

I rated the food excellent but with a caveat. The portions are tiny but the prices are not. We had 7 in our group and not one compliant about the food but about the portion size and the price. The location of the Vista grill is up a mountain overlooking the city and the bay. Great place to see the sunset or even just a great view of the bay day or night. I will go back here again but next time maybe just for a drink and appetizer.

Commment about Le Kliff

Beautiful Place But...

The location of Le Kliff is awe inspiring. Watching the sunset perched above the ocean on cliffs above the bay is incredible. The food was great too. The service was just about adequate and the prices were way too expensive. For 2 people with only one drink each the bill was close to $180.00 USD with tip. I am glad to have had this experience but I will not go back.

Commment about Mama Dolores Diner

Go for the owner and stay for the fun

I have been to Puerto Vallarta 3 times. Each time I have been to Mama Dolores Diner. The owner was a real character. We is the waiter or waitress depending on the heat. He is extremely funny and makes everyone feel welcome. The drinks here are large, cheap and loaded with alcohol. The location is on a quiet street downtown. The food here is good and cheap.

Commment about Kit Kat

Grat Breakfast

I was recommended to get breakfast here by a couple I met on the beach that have been going to Puerto Vallarta for the past 13 years. I ordered the cinnamon roll french toast as they recommended. The breakfast was very good. As I finished the meal the couple that recommended Kit Kat showed up. Great french toast on a nice street.
