Tequila. Is it a drink, the name of a village, or a gift from the Gods to the Hispanic world?
This is a tour that does it all. On this trip you'll visit the lava fields of the Ceboruco volcano, ruins, agave plantations, haciendas, tequilla distillery, and more!
You will travel to the Cactlán Valley where you will visit the coloniel city of Compostella with a beautiful panoramic view. After, you will visit the lava fields of the "Black Giant" the El Ceboruco Volcano, on the the nine active volcanoes in Mexico. Next it is off to the ruins of the pyramids of the Nahualt to see how the ancient people built these huge structures. You'll see the tell-tale signs of how their society was structured, and how they lived. These are sights you will see as we travel through the mountains on the road to the Tequila region.
Yes, the Mexican "water of life" is named for the region it comes from, and it's a pretty extensive region. Miles and miles of the Weber Blue Agave cactus will signal your arrival in the region and the roadside Tequila vendors will tell you that you're in the distillery area. We'll take you to the plantation to show how the Agave is grown and harvested. Then it's off to the famous La Cofradía Distillery to see how the Tequila is made, and to sample the finished product. Then it is time for a typical Mexican lunch.
This is a full day of travel and adventure and everything is included to make it a memorable one.
Due to the fact that this is a full day tour involving long driving distances, it is recommended that you not schdule any other activities the same day of the tour.
