What a disappointment for a young lady celebrating graduation. Ignored by the staff, two hours for a simple order while others arriving later was served first. There were other tables around us likewise treated. No apologies, no explanations. The view is not worth the sad experience.

Fine dining this is not, but the food is very good and the view makes up for anything you don't like about the food. They serve a variety of steaks and seafood. Getting the cheapest steak on the menu is just fine. It is cooked to order and has a wonderful flavor. The view is spectacular! You can see both sides of the city and if you hike up to the area that is under construction, (there is a path) you can see the entire bay. Sunset is a great time to be there. The ride up will be like being at Disneyworld! (if you like roller coasters) I would recommend this place to everyone who visits. Do take a jacket though because it can get quite cold. They do give out blankets to cover your shoulders or legs.

My Husband and I had the most romantic beautiful dinner there on our honeymoon. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone . Don't go to Puerto Vallarta if you don't plan on going there.Plus the trip up to the retaurant is definitly part of the charm....

This was by far the worst restaurant I have been to in P.V. The service was horrible and the food was below average. Although the view was beautiful it was definitely not worth the long drive!!!

Agree with all the other comments, great view, food above average, service a little slow at times, trip up there is fun.

We had already found a cab driver we fell in love with and we personally called and requested that Eric take us up the mountain to Las Carmelitas! Outstanding view, wonderful food, and great staff. Eric came back up the mountain a few minutes early and we MADE him join us! What a wonderful dining experience.

this restaurant is a must. we were introduced to las carmelitas by friends tom and magali and now reccomend it to all we know going.

The atmosphere and view were wonderful, even with the clouds blocking the sunset. The food was reasonably priced, except for the Giant Prawns my husband ordered. The $32 price was too much for the 4 prawns he received. They can accomodate large groups as we had at least 26 people in our party. oh, and the pottery on sale there is very reasonably priced.

We own a year round condo in PV and lend it or rent to often. We ALWAYS tell people they MUST go up to Las Carmelitas. The food is good, service is fine but the attraction is the view!!! The trip up is exciting and down is hair raising. Get there at least 1/2 hour before sunset, which seems to last much longer from this elevated view.
