Delightful find - a hidden gemRated:![]() by Vicky McG'' from USA Written 7 months ago | The service was excellent and the food was as well. Presentation was beautiful. The restaurant is very pretty inside&inviting. The prices were moderate for dinner. We will return to this hidden gem. |
Hidden TreasureRated:![]() by Steve&Carol from USA Written 1 year ago | We've been to PV enough times that we didn't want to do the "touristy" thing and checked this site for recommendations... This restaurant is indeed a hidden treasure! We ordered the Coconut Shrimp, a Filet and the "Garbage" salad. The salad was absolutely delicious, the filet excellent and the shrimp was to die for - you won't be disappointed in the shrimp! While the neighborhood was residential, the ambience was very nice and worth the easy walk up from Insurgentes. Aquiles Serdan parallels the River Cuale and we had a nice stroll down the Isla Cuale after dinner. We highly recommend this restaurant!! |
Fabulous food and a charming atmosphere!Rated:![]() by N from US Written 1 year ago | We never would have found this restaurant if our friends had not recommended it. It was a wonderful dining experience in a charming restored house. The service was fantastic and the food was exquisite - the coconut shrimp were a real masterpiece and the portions were very generous. We returned here on our last night in PV because it was our favorite restaurant. Jamie and Piano made us feel like "part of their family" by the time we left here - truly outstanding! |
Best in TownRated:![]() by sue from US Written 1 year ago | Off the beaten path, taxi drivers never believe you when you tell them to keep driving up Aquiles Serdan but it is well worth the trip. We've eaten there several times a season (winter) since they opened. The garbage salad is fabulous and can be shared 4 ways and the crab cakes are to die for. We've never had a bad meal. Can't wait to get back. |
Great, as everRated:![]() by Helen Torrance from Canada Written 1 year ago | We first ate at Encanto almost 3 years ago and return every time we visit Vallarta. Like some other great Vallarta restaurants (e.g., Casa Naranjo), it's a little off the beaten track, but well worth finding. Just walk up Aquiles Serdan (the last street before the river on the south side of the Rio Cuale), 3 blocks from Insurgentes. You'll find Encanto in a converted home on Aquiles Serdan just past Calle Naranjo on the right hand side. Jaime, Piano and Henrique offer wonderful service, and the food is consistently fabulous. The complimentary fresh salsa (tomatoes, coriander, onion, chile, with the addition of black beans and corn) crabcakes, and fresh hot bread rolls are wonderful. The chicken negamaki starter (skewers of chicken breast rolled with green onions and sesame seeds with a hot/sweet chile sauce) is excellent, as are the salads. For entrees, you can't go wrong with the coconut shrimp served on pineapple with a mango sauce, or try the seafood stuffed poblano chiles, or the chicken with guava sauce. The portions are generous and incredibly tasty and we rarely have room for dessert. Visit Encanto - you won't be disappointed. |
