Amazingby Sharon from USAWritten 1 year ago | El Set is a great way to get traditional Mexican food in a fantastic atmosphere. Fabulous is all I can say!!!!!! |
There is nothing like it!Rated:![]() by Dave in Eugene from Gringo Written 1 year ago | Had lunch there Feb 23 2007. We were a group of almost 200, had the whole place reserved for our group and were served banquet style. Everything was ready when we arrived there so don't know what is typical for the service quality, but we were served platters of carne asade fajitas, a variety of taquitos, and grilled strips of mahi mahi, and all was hot and delicious. Drinks were flavorful and refreshing, but it was a hot day and we needed more water than anything. We occupied the street level and upper decks, and what could anybody say about the veiw except fantastic?
We hope to return to PV one day and we will be looking it up again. |
BillRated:![]() by Bill from USA Written 1 year ago | Returned to El Set after 23 years and we were not dissappointed. Food was great,&well presented. Waiter who'd been at El Set for 26 years treated us like royalty. View is beautiful - even though we had no sunset the night we went. Best dinner all week in PV. |
El Set on the Declineby Kelly from USAWritten 1 year ago | My friend and I were in PV for New Years and decided to have New Years Eve dinner at El Set since it had become one of our favorites when visiting. I am sorry to say we were both very disappointed in our visit. While the courses leading up to the main dish were very good the service in between each was rushed, barely allowing time to enjoy what we had just finsihed. When the main dish arrived (we both had Sea Bass) it was barely luke warm, crusty and dried out. We sent it back only to get the same version only with hot melted butter poured over it. Also disappointing is that we made reservations well in advance (for 2) yet were sat in the middle of two other parties of 7 or more, one of which had children running around playing. Not sure who thought that out. Overall, am very disappointed to see El Set go downhill after such terrific previous experiences. We confirmed with a well known local concierage that this is not the first recent poor report he''s heard about the decline of El Set. Will need to get word that they''ve stepped back up to par before returning. |
Nice view, but Not worth the botherRated:![]() by Chicgail from US Written 1 year ago | A freind recommneded that we stop for a meal at El Set. We had breakfast there. The view was lovely as are so many vistas in PV. They served a mediocre Mexican buffet that was adequate (we're no longer hungry) but not memorable. |
