One of PV's BestRated:![]() by Dan from Mexico Written 9 days ago | Location, location, location ... that's what works against Casa Naranjo. Other than a taco stand on the opposite corner, Casa Naranjo is the only visible restaurant in an off beat neighborhood several blocks from the bustling streets of the Zona Romantica. But that's about the only negative in what otherwise was an excellent dining experience.
From the complimentary appetizers (presented and prepared by the owner/chef) to the main courses and outstanding (and reasonable) wine list, this was a real find. Recommended: House salad (fresh mixed greens, strawberries, orange pieces, and goat cheese in a light vinegary dressing), pork chops (extra thick in a mushroom/burgundy reduction sauce). We will definitely go back, assuming it stays in business. Open for three years, the night we were there, the restaurant was empty except for us (of course it was a Tuesday night in the middle of August ... you can't get much lower season than that here). |
One of PV's Best Kept SecretsRated:![]() by Marco Garcia Pineda from Mexico Written 1 year ago | Have been to this wonderful, friendly restaurant three times in the last few months and have been impressed every time. The food is imaginative, and with great flavors and presentation. A little off the beaten path, and so not very crowded. Would definitely recommend it! |
Great place!by babycakes from USAWritten 1 year ago | We loved the food, service, decor of this place. We liked it so much, we ate there twice during our trip. Great appetizers, salads, fish and desserts. We will visit it again during our next visit and recommend it highly. |
Don't miss Casa NaranjoRated:![]() by Helen Torrance from Canada Written 1 year ago | We'd been meaning to visit Casa Naranjo for a while; however, finally made it there last week and are so glad we did. Per previous reviewers, it is a tiny bit off the beaten track; however, is well worth a visit - or several. The room is modern, casual, and airy and offers a full view of the open kitchen. The menu is impressive, and offers something for everyone. Food and service were impeccable, and we'll definitely return. |
A Real FindRated:![]() by Larry Sheldon from USA Written 1 year ago | The only thing surprising about Casa Naranjo is why it's not busting at the seams with people. But, enjoy it while it lasts. The food is excellent, the service prompt and attentive, but not hovering, and the space is air conditioned. Many things on the menu are great, but the sleeper is the Country Steak. Sounds sort of like a country-fried steak from Texas, but that couldn't be further from the truth. It's actually a delicious cut much like a filet mignon, about two full inches thick, cooked just as you order and served with a brown mushroom sauce -- on the side, if you like. I guess the sauce is why they gave this great piece of meat it's rather mundane sounding name. Try anything at Casa Naranjo, and be delighted. |
