My friend and I experienced Cafe Artist at least 8-10 years ago. We had the eight course Sampler. We visited again October 18,2009 and again had the 8 course Sampler. I was afraid it would not be the same or as good as our visit years back.

We can't tell you how wonderful our experience was. You truly outdid yourselves. Everything from the service, food and atmosphere was perfect. We felt the price for our dinner was also the best value in all of Mexico or for that matter, the United States

Kind regards and thank you again

Tres bien!

My girlfriends and I happened upon this restaurant by accident and were delighted with the food! It was gourmet food festival week and so we tried the tasting menu by the guest chef and enjoyed every bite! One of the best meals I have ever had! Of course the company and conversation was excellent too! A must visit if you want a 5* meal while in Vallarta! We stumbled upon the outside upper patio dining area which was blanketed by lighted trees and would have preferred to dine there than in the restaurant. Next time!

In a small out of the way location sits this restaurant of unusual elegance, style and Gourmet taste sensations. It is well worth the trip to enjoy such elegance and taste.

The Most Elegant Classy Place in PV

It took me 5 years to get there, and Finally on May 28, 2008 we got to try this place and I was impressed by the quality and taste of the food, as well as the ambiance, menu, wine selection, professional waiters and the delightful music of Antoine in Cafe des Auteurs. 3 places within one roof, all with each style and ambiance.
I highly recommend you try this place while in Puerto Vallarta!
Bravo Thierry ! Felicidades por el buen gusto!

Over the years we have heard many wonderful things about des Artistes. I always stayed away because of the price and we know of so many great places for a 80-150 peso meal. During this May's restaurant festival we gave it a try. Food - OUTSTANDING, Service - FANTASTIC,
Ambience - Excellent. Complaint - would somebody get the hostess's to smile, acknowledge our existence, they were just to self absorbed in "I'm so pretty".

Great atmosphere

This place is really hyped up. I really don’t find the food really good. To be honest I found that the outback steakhouse has better steak than they do. Much cheaper also!! I would say it’s a desert place and a cocktail place. I’m a very picky person when it comes to fine dining and this is not on my top five in Vallarta.

My daughter and I enjoyed this wonderful restaurant just as my wife and I did last year.

We intend to bring all our children here in the next two years to equally enjoy the food, service, drink and ambiance.

We've lived and enjoyed restaurants in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and Rome. This restaurant matches up with the best of them in each of those cities.

We highly recommend you visit this restaurant if you visit Puerto Vallarta and wish to enjoy a dining experience par excellance.

ABOUT THE GOURMET TEMPLE "COCINA DE AUTOR"

Recently I found out I visited over 50%of the "best 100 restaurants of the world”. Thierry Blouet`s gourmet temple "cocina de autor" can claim a place somewhere up there through its ideas and creations. But the portions are really too small even for a tasting menu: f.ex the foie gras - excellent in taste - was thin, like sliced with the pathologists microtome, the filet of "avestruz" was also too thin, this time with negative influence, not revealing the special whole flavour of ostrich meat, the lechon (piglet) was better but 4 pieces about the size of 5 pesos coins are not enough not even for an ascetic.
Some of the courses were “under salted" like for high bloodpressure diet depriving them of a part of their "sabor" and you know how it is with "after salting". But I believe in you and with a little effort all this could be avoided and I hope that at my next visit I could put you somewhere up there.

Excellent

Excellent meal, service, ambiance and presentation. May be highest priced restaurant in PV, however, you would spend at least $50 for 2 more at home for the same meal. This is the 5th time I've been there in the last 10 years and is always my first recommendation to any new visitor to PV.
