Awesome BreakfastsRated:![]() by Tony from USA Written 10 months ago | This is always our first breakfast stop in PV. Mexican style scrambled eggs are fantastic. The food is served piping hot (not always the case in Mexico). No staff turnover is a great indicator of a well run, quality establishment. Year after year the servers, cooks, managers welcome you back. Very reasonably priced. Always a line for dinner, but worth the wait. |
Love it...every visit!by Vicki Cote' from usaWritten 1 year ago | Have been eating there for years and years- never had a bad meal yet!
Waiters make you feel like royalty, attentive and personable. Chile Rellenos, baked potatoes, tamales, seafood, appetizers all wonderful. Only problem is deciding on what to get...yum! |
Good Place to eatby Michael from USAWritten 1 year ago | My friend and I liked this restaurant. Its easy to get to if you are staying in one of the downtown hotels near Playa Los Muertos. If you order the fish tacos make sure they use homemade tortillas!! They used mission or taco bell wraps on mine and I was disappointed they couldnt come up with anything else. If you sit next to the window or where you can see into the kitchen check out the little mexican lady prep cook she works her ass off!! |
Good food at Cafe de OllaRated:![]() by Sandy Modders (9 comments) ![]() from United States Written 1 year ago | We went here our last night beacause we had heard so much about the seafood platter. The restaurant was very crowded and there was a long line outside. We had made a reservation and were seated within 10 minutes of our time!
The service was good, the seafood platter&ribs were very good, and the restaurant decor was perfect mexican. The only thing bad about our experience was that the restaurant tends to be loud when it is so crowded, may be better to go earlier when it is not so crowded. The prices seemed a little high for what you got, but not so much food that you have leftovers. |
funny guysby tahlemhu from vietnamWritten 1 year ago | This restaurant is very famous and people who work there are friendly. But the workers there sometimes are drinking out side of the restaurant and I think that is very bad for the restaurant. It would be nice if they don't do that often. this is just an opinion. |
Highly RecommendedRated:![]() by Shawn P from Canada Written 1 year ago | Wow what an amazing place to eat. I went there for my birthday and we had the seafood plater.. It was more food than we could eat and it was all amazing. The prices are very good and the service was amazing. A must if you are visiting PV. |

Just as good the 2nd time around!Rated:![]() by Dave Caldwell (6 comments) ![]() from United States Written 1 year ago | I was introduced to Cafe de Olla on my first visit to PV in 2004. Returning there was a must do on my visit this time. We ended up eating there 3 times in one week. The food is excellent, the service friendly and fun. The tortilla soup is TO DIE FOR. The margaritas give you a lot of bang for your buck and are tasty and delicious to boot! I can't say enough about this place. My favorite restaurant by far in Puerto Vallarta. |
Mr.Rated:![]() by Doug from USA Written 2 years ago | Excellent food and nice people. Go early if the cruise ships are in town. |
Always a winner!by Donn Colee from USAWritten 2 years ago | I have been eating at Cafe de Olla for over 11 years now when I'm down there and have never been disappointed! I have watched it grow from “The” place to have breakfast (lines down the street!) to THE place to eat anytime. Breakfasts are enormous, lunches are wonderful and the BBQ they do there for dinner is out of this world! And yes, the twice baked potatoes are delicious, perfect for a gringo "fix" when you really need it! Most amazing food for the price of anywhere in Old Town! Wonderful mix of locals and tourists at all hours. |
