Sun and FunRated:![]() by Paula Ponsonby from United States MN Written 6 months ago | We enjoy the beach and the palm trees for shade when we want to just take a nap. We thought the food and service is great, the key to great service at an all-inclusive it to tip. We bring a big bundle of $1.00 bills to give out for tips. They love it and will be very attentive!
The court yard area where the theatre, bar huts and disco in the center makes for a great gathering place to meet people and enjoy the music and atmosphere. So many other resorts are so spread out that there were no main gathering areas. We stayed at the Riu Jalisco in twice and last year made the mistake of staying at the Marival and the Marival is too spread out and no center point of activity or fun. We will definitely go back to Riu Jalisco again in the future. We are over 40 and have kids out of the nest so going on vacation is a muched deserved break from Minnesota and work. |
Adult ReviewRated:![]() by Monica from Calgary from Canada Written 1 year ago | The food was superb and staff in the restaurants were very good. The adult pool was un-supervised. It was full of parents who brought their kids into the adult pool area with their pool floatees and the kids were splashing. There is no policing for the adult pool. The pool chairs are few as they are all reserved early in the morning even though the sign says no reserving of chairs. People were putting their beach towels on the chairs and then going back to the hotel. Most of the chairs were taken by kids. |
Relaxing vacationRated:![]() by rachael susman from US Written 1 year ago | I just came back from the Riu Jalisco resort and had such a wonderful time that I felt obligated to write a review. The hotel offers the best "back yard" of all the facilities in the area with its beautifully manicured grounds and rows of stately palm trees, and has tremendous charm for being such a large resort. The staff were universally friendly and professional, the rooms and public areas were clean and well maintained, and the buffets offered a dizzying array of choices even for picky eaters. The evening shows were worth attending, too. Mexican tourism has recently received some bad press, and at least in the Puerto Vallarta region and at the Riu Jalisco, that press is entirely undeserved.

Very Nice but too Far from TownRated:![]() by Anna from Canada Written 1 year ago | My family and I stayed there Jan 2008, for one week. The hotel was very nice and the staff were friendly. However it is very far from Puerto Vallarta. In 2 weeks I'll be heading back but has decided to stay in town. |

Had funRated:![]() by Terbear from Canada Written 1 year ago | Stayed here October 31st 2008 for a week. Huge hotel, rooms were done up great every day. Swim up bar pool was very loud during the day and I could barely see my feet one day but the rest of the days were fine. Bathrooms are way to far from the pool, that is my biggest complaint, oh and the fact they were re duing the roof while we were there and that started at 8am but luckily I wanted to get up anywase and start my day. Check renovation status before you go I guess as I thought our travel agent would have taken care of that, my travel agent is whom I would not recomend! |
