The BestRated:![]() by Bill from Canada Written 9 months ago | The best place I have ever stayed at! I will be back SOON! |
Great Authentic Mexican VacationRated:![]() by Nutmeg13 from Canada Written 9 months ago | We just returned from a one week stay (February 09) at the Hacienda Hotel&Spa. We wanted an authentic Mexican vacation and that's what we got! If you're looking for a 5 star glossy hotel - go somewhere else. The Hacienda decor is rustic but clean. Yes, the beds are hard, but we slept like babies! The staff are friendly and are continually grooming the grounds, sweeping tiles, wiping tables. They waited on us hand and foot. The two a la cartes are great - one visit per restuarant per week. Fresh made-to-order omlettes every morning, fresh fruit galore! The beach is about a 2 block walk and yes, it's through construction, but you do have the option of using the hotel bus service to the beach. There's a great beach club. Hotel is a great location - grocery store next door, 10 minute walk to Wal-Mart, bus to downtown right at the corner. About 5 minutes from Marina where a lot of the tours leave from. On the last day I found a neat little market about 3 blocks from the hotel (right at the Marina) – walk north to the gas station and turn left – a couple blocks and you’re there!. The Malecon is a "must see". Shows on Sunday evening are spectacular. We went on three tours - Sans Sebastian (great culture), City Tour (they put us on the wrong bus so we had the wrong tour but they gave us our money back) and Rhythms of the Night. Next time we'll skip the tours and stay at the hotel. We already paid for all inclusive meals and drinks - when you go on tours you pay again. A bus trip to nearby Buscerias is another must-see! The buses are everything you hear about - fast and rattly! But all part of the experience. Be on the look-out for time-share agents everywhere! One tour guide said PV has a very low crime rate. We felt safe but of course, be careful at all times. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat! |
Family holiday in FebruaryRated:![]() by Sarah from B.C. Canada Written 1 year ago | We wanted a small Mexico style holiday, and we found it at the Hacienda. It was a perfect holiday. Great staff and anxious to help in every way. Hotel was very clean. Food was plentiful and always available. It's not gourmet, but enough choice to please all. Rooms were quiet and comfortable. Canopy Tour was a great experience!! This is not a luxury hotel, but the pool was lovely and we had a great holiday and we would highly recommend this place. Hope to return..... |
Best hotel ever!Rated:![]() by lizette from canada Written 1 year ago | This was our first trip to Mexico, and we were so happy that we ended up at the hacienda.
We had the best time ever! The staff were the greatest, they are so happy that you are there, and having fun and joking around with you and even with each other. The rooms are a little rustic the beds are hard but thats in all of Mexico!Just ask for 1 or 2 extra blankets and lay them under your bed sheets!!works like a charm! Every thing is walking distance or a roller coaster bus ride away!(you will know what I`m talking about if you have been on the bus :) It`s so clean everyone is always working. It`s the most relaxing vacation I`ve had in a very long time!! We made some great friends there and we are all planning on going back next year!!! I recommend this hotel to eveyone! |
A Beautifull WeekRated:![]() by Gilbert Wiens from Canada Written 1 year ago | My wife and I and friends stayed Dec12 till dec20,2008 the staff are fantastic, our little maid Was great every day she made our bed up differently with little designs it was beautiful. The staff again went over board to please. We had all inclusive and were not disapointed. The meals could have been changed a little some variation would have been nice. But that would never stop us from returning, the staff from the front desk to the pool cleaneres were so nice , We could not thank them enough. We had a wonderfull time. |
A Great GetawayRated:![]() by Mary P from USA Written 1 year ago | The staff was friendly, honest and very helpful. On the first night at the restaurant, the waiter brought my son and me each a free margarita. It was our third and was definitely not weaker! The grounds were lovely and I enjoyed the pool and courtyard area, but the room was a little dreary. The mattress was wonderful. We were there Christmas week and enjoyed the low-key festivities. Fun but not overdone. I liked the special events such as Noche Mexicana while dining by the pool at night. We arrived late because the staff told us the wrong time for its start. The beach was OK, but the short walk there was unattractive and a bit hazardous. We didn't mind, but some might find it offputting. Tho I regretted that we were not closer to downtown, we were able to walk to the marina, shops, grocery store, Starbucks and the bus stop, for a quick and cheap ride to downtown. Recommendation: Have staff be knowledgeable about history of hacienda. Those I asked did not know. Overall, it was a great week. |
Great PlaceRated:![]() by L. D. Taylor from Canada Written 1 year ago | My sister and I spent a week (Dec 1-8) at the Hacienda and loved it. It's a genuine Mexican resort with many Mexican guests - not the usual hotel-row American accommodation. The staff were great, the room (and beds) fine, the meals adequate, the spa delightful, the pool fun. The only downer was the beach and the construction en route. But the hotel shuttle worked well. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to others looking for a gentle, quiet holiday. Parties were not tolerated (thank goodness!). |
Loved it!Rated:![]() by Lori from US/Mexico Written 1 year ago | We stayed in one of the "Superior Room with Tub" rooms...it was clean and had a small deck on the courtyard. This is NOT a fancy hotel, in what Northerners think of as fancy, but it is definitely four stars in Mexico! We were very happy with the room and the bed. We had read the reviews about the hard beds, but since we live here part time, we know that ALL beds in Mexico are hard, we both slept like babies on the one in our room.
The restaurant is ok, we only ate there twice. The only time we were unhappy was when we ordered a third Margarita apiece and it was completely without tequila. Apparently this is something resorts do too, assuming you will be too drunk or too stupid to notice...we noticed. All else was lovely. We would stay again. |
Had a great timeRated:![]() by Cinda from Canada Written 2 years ago | A little more than a year ago my (then fiancee) and I stayed at the Hacienda for a week long all inclusive. We got married there as well. It's lowkey but they made it very beautiful. You have options as to where to have the ceremony (we chose inside their very serene spa). The staff were amazing. The beach (about a block away) could have been better but it was sand and ocean and that's what we wanted.
The rooms were fantastic (remember you're actually staying at a classic Hacienda so don't expect things on par with a Hilton etc). Our bed was HUGE. And we DID have outlets in our bathroom area that took America/Canadian appliances (I straightened my hair before our ceremony). The pool is gorgeous. And very clean. The food was Western cuisine (so hamburgers/pasta a lot of the time) but the a la carte restaurant was very good. All in all our week was incredibly relaxing and we want to go back sometime in the new year. I should have written this a year ago when we got home. You'll have a great time here. |
Yes, so-so Hotelby Peter Orlick from CanadaWritten 2 years ago | It's ok, nothing fancy, but then we weren't looking for anything fancy, it was our base from going out on many tours and self adventures. Food got kind of mundane after the 4th or 5th day. Lots of road noise as it is located right up against the main drag and not off of it as shown on the map, and also lots of pollution as well. If you can get a room way at the back of the hotel, that would be good. |
