PV Chamber Orchestra Features Music Of Ravel, Beethoven And Villalobos Under The Stars

 Headlining a vibrant program of classical and contemporary works, the March 16 Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra concert at the American School under the direction of Nick Salmans, features an exciting program including "Autumn Ramble", an original composition by John Robertson, Ravel's Spanish dance "Pavane Pour Une Infante Defunte", Beethoven's Coriolanus Overture. and a lovely arrangement of Villa-Lobos Modhina. Three guest soloists, orchestra members D'Rachael, Flautist and Vicki Schilling, horn, are joined by internationally renowned violinist, Moshe Hammer as the featured musicians for this evening of music under the stars. Two of these musicians are current members of the orchestra and one is travelling from Toronto, Canada to join the Orchestra. Critically acclaimed for his artistic style, unique interpretations and vibrant tone, violinist Moshe Hammer will perform the first movement of the Bach Violin Concerto in A Minor with the chamber orchestra. A student of Jascha Heifetz, Hammer was a medal winner at the Concours Jacques Thibaud In Paris and has been the leader of Toronto based Chamber group, the Amadeus Ensemble. Hammer's performances have thrilled audiences worldwide. Also performing a solo in this program is PV's popular flautist, D' Rachael performing a movement from Mozart Flute Concerto K 314. Vicki Shilling, a resident of Lo de Marcos, will be presenting the final movement of Mozart's ever popular horn concerto K 417
The Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra has been delighting audiences since 2004 when it was formed by Kathleen Hennen and D'Rachael. Since its initial inception, it has grown to the twenty member ensemble that will perform March 16,
The concert will be held at 8 p.m. at the American School (Colegio Americana). Entry is by optional donations which are used to offset orchestra expenses such as the purchase of music, transportation costs of musicians and equipment, payment for light and sound equipment and staff. There is plenty of parking at the Plaza Marina.
