The Art Walk 2006-2007

One of the key events that kicks off each new art season here in Puerto Vallarta is The Art Walk this October 25th until March 28th, 2007. Organized over fifteen years ago by Barbara Peters and her late husband Gene, the early days featured all of six downtown galleries. They've now settled into a comfortable fifteen.

Many of the featured artists will be present every Wednesday from 6:00pm-10:00pm, so you'll be sure to meet interesting and interested aficionados of the incredibly varied art scene of this vibrant city. The art represents a broad spectrum media: sculpture in metal, bronze, ceramic and wood; painting in oils, watercolor and acrylics; fabrications of discarded materials; drawings in pastels, pencils and inks; photographs in black and white, sepia, hand-colored and gold-leafed; virtually anything you can imagine and many you can't. It's worth it not only to see what is traditional and new but also to see what is the new traditional. Visit with your favorite artists and get to know the new faces on the scene.

A more detailed directory of information including addresses, telephone numbers, and the schedules of the various galleries, has been prepared for you and can be found here.
