Jalisco Lives, Without the Flu

The recent outbreak of Swine Flu has severely affected the image of Mexico abroad. So today, efforts are being made to erase the stigma of this country as a place to catch something.
During those two terrible weeks, the entire whole country was forced to a virtual halt. While Mexico City was dealing with the outbreak, Puerto Vallarta ordered the closure of schools, nightclubs, discos, and restaurants, creating a harsh blow to remaining tourism.
Some felt that the government was dealing well and promptly wit the crisis, avoiding any risk of new infections, with the enormous potential for contagion. For others, the measures were excessive, that is to say, the cure was worse than the disease. However, beyond a sterile debate, I immediately thought about how one could help the country emerge from, not the disease, but the negative effects it had on the country's image.
Such discrimination by some countries has led Mexican singer Alejandro Fernandez to put together a major show in his role as the Tourism Ambassador of Jalisco, and then inviting friends and fellow performers to join him in inviting the world not to fear Mexico, through a pair concerts that are hoped to encourage tourists to visit our destinations.
Thus arose the two free concert tour dubbed "Jalisco en Vivo 2009," the first of which will take place on the Malecon at Puerto Vallarta on June 20 and the second in the la Glorieta de la Minerva in Guadalajara on June 27.
The concert in Puerto Vallarta will be hosted by Gloria Calzada, which besides enjoying her famous "Potrillo", she will be playing her greatest hits, ballads and traditional romantic rancheras, and present some of her friends.
Confirmed for this first concert in Vallarta are singers Joan Sebastian, Enrique Iglesias, Raul di Blasio, Aleks Syntek, Luis Fonsi, Polar Leon, Gianmarco, David Bisbal, Noel, Coti, Belanova, Fanny Lu, Sandoval, Ha * Ash and Mary José.
For the second concert a week later in Guadalajara, Rebeca de Alba will be the headliner. With her will be Gloria Estefan, Paulina Rubio, Raul di Blasio, Aleks Syntek, Luis Fonsi, Reyli Barba, Gianmarco, Merche, Belanova, Sandoval, Ha * Ash, José María, Paty Cantu and Axel.
Jalisco's Ambassador of Tourism will offer a top quality show as he did with his recent tour, "Viento" in major cities throughout Mexico and abroad. Hopefully everyone will help make the concert a success and declare VIVA Mexico with Tourism in Jalisco en Vivo without a trace of influenza.
