 In a place as hot as Vallarta you cannot have too many ice cream parlors. A few weeks ago Thrifty Helados, famous on the west coast of the US, opened up a new store downtown, a block up from the beginning of the Malecón. Thrifty features ice cream in cylindrical shapes not scoops like traditional ice cream parlors, very conducive for stacking multiple scoops. Flavors like choco-brownie, piña colada, strawberry cheesecake, and pistachio fill the freezer. Two computers are also available for surfing the web.
