Artificial Boundaries in Banderas Bay

This time of crisis is an opportunity to rethink the various proposals for regional integration.
A few days ago the Federal Secretary of Tourism, Rodolfo Elizondo Torres, extended an invitation to the businessmen and hoteliers of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit to work closer together in this time of crisis.
It is not the first time for this question of the joint promotion of Banderas Bay, which seems clearly necessary, yet consistently ignored by the tourism officials of Jalisco and Nayarit, which unfortunately favor their political party differences and forget the old phrase about strength in unity.
It is not about losing identity, but to combine the best elements of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit and integrate them into the range of options available to encourage potential tourists to travel to this region.
In this way, the two destinations are strengthened, Puerto Vallarta has a very clear identity as a typical Mexican town nestled between the mountains and the bay, while Riviera Nayarit has created an image of a tourist destination with many options for youth or for relaxation with wide variety of recreation and fun choices.
The combination is wonderful and very diverse; the list of complementary attractions is very long: downtown/Centro Puerto Vallarta viand Nuevo Vallarta's beaches, restaurants excursions, Gran Truism hotels romantic corners of the city.
Like many other things in society, in this case the businesses, who, for example, have spontaneously decided to add 10 million pesos for the joint promotion of the region and requested a similar amount from the federal government, which can be granted through CPTM through a campaign to promote an emerging national market.
The support programs include financing and promotion for businesses affected by the crisis, but this will fall far short if not distributed and supported with a campaign to promote the attractions of the bay. People create borders, not nature. |
