Casa or Caja de Cambios are money exchange houses or booths, located in most areas of Vallarta.

Just look for the sign, along with the exchange rates listed. These places do not charge a separate fee or commission, although the exchange rate will not be quite as good as a bank.

Casa de Cambios will exchange United States and Canadian Dollars into Pesos, and many will also exchange Euros and other currencies. They will also exchange traveler's checks. To cash a traveler's check, you will need government issued photo identification, such as a driver's license or a passport.

Often, your best exchange rate for buying pesos is at the airport. Check the rates at the airport bank and Casa de Cambios when you land. This also happens to be one of the worst places to sell your pesos back into other currency, so we recommend you spend your pesos before you head back to the airport or exchange them into your home currency elsewhere.
