Wet and Wild Fun for Kids

by Amy Charfen | published: 3/31/2005

There is no shortage of activities in Puerto Vallarta. Here is one that kids will find especially enjoyable: Splash Waterpark With such a wide variety of activities, Splash Waterpark has You are HERE.become another word for a kid's fun land. It's a complete water park with 12 large waterslides. The slides are on the way to the top of a 108 foot high (eight story) tower where the tallest attraction, and the favorite of many, the "Blue Slide" is located. There are seven waterslides in the kid's area, a playground, dolphin tank, sea lions and exotic birds shows. Also included on site are a boutique/gift shop, parking lot, bungalows, restaurant and snack bars.

The park is very safe, with well-made slides. The only exception is the "Torbellino", a slide with a doughnut-looking object at the base and a pool below. Some injuries have been reported onGo for a wet ride at Splash Waterpark. that attraction. There is a railing all the way to the top of the tower and members of the staff are at each slide as well as the kid's area to make sure everything goes smoothly. Like any water park, avoid running because some areas could be slippery.

There are six really clean pools and a "lazy river" that surrounds the kid's area. The restrooms, changing area and showers are all very clean and as well as the bungalows that are available for overnight stays.
Families with two children should expect to spend approximately $400 pesos for a meal in the restaurant or $150 - $200 pesos for the snack bar.

Club Los Delfines at Los Veneros Beach Club is an exciting alternative to the hotel pool. You can catch a bus to Splash in front of the Wal-Mart in Puerto Vallarta. It is about a 20 minute ride from there.

After a long day of frolicking in the water the little ones will probably be sound asleep before they get back to the hotel. You won't regret the trip for such a fun day with enjoyable companionship and the smiles of "thanks" on their little faces.
