Christmas forecast: No Snow
If you are coming to Vallarta without a hotel reservation you will likely do your own reenactment of Mary and Joseph's journey looking for a room. Vallarta is virtually booked up for Christmas and New Years. For those that will be enjoying the holiday in Mexico here are some things to do on the 24th and 25th.Mexico celebrates the Christmas holiday on the 24th, Noche Buena. Most restaurants will be serving a special menu on Christmas Eve. Families gather in restaurants or in their homes for later evening feasts, often precluded by mass. The Church of Guadalupe will host mass (in Spanish) on December 24 at 10:00 p.m. On Christmas day, December 25, there will be a bilingual service at 10:00 a.m. On Christmas day why not do something you probably could not do if you were "at home?" Go to the beach! After your day at the beach take a stroll along the Malecón. You could spot the amazing Voladores of Papantla taking flight near the seahorse sculpture. The ritual lasts thirty minutes. There will also be live music all along the ocean front boardwalk, street artists and a very friendly, very cheerful mood of christmas by the sea. One thing you can count on in Puerto Vallarta is that it won't be a white Christmas. Happy holidays from your amigos at VallartaOnline! Here are restaurants which will have special Christmas menus.
