Beach Voleyball: Sport and Fun

Summer is around the corner and what better way to enjoy than by attending the Second Puerto Vallarta International Beach Volley Ball Competition 2009; an event that has the perfect formula to best enjoy all that Puerto Vallarta has to offer: sun, sand and fun, and this year's event is considered to be a precursor to promoting Vallarta as the tourist destination best able to host this event during the 2011 Pan American Games.

From June 12 to 14, the Agustín Flores Contreras Sports Stadium will host this spectacular tournament while also promoting this venue for Women's Beach Volleyball Event, with the confirmed participation of 12 duos: 10 International and 2 Mexican. Countries such as Bulgaria, Canada, Costa Rica, El Salvador, USA, Italy, Romania, Guatemala, Poland, Greece and Mexico, all represented in this second running of this tournament here in Puerto Vallarta.

The elimination rounds will take place on Friday June 12 and Saturday June 13 from 11:00am to 6:00pm. The finals will be played on Sunday June 14 at the same times. Especially for this tournament special bleachers will be mounted inside the stadium that will accommodate 3 thousand cheering fans.

The prize for the tournament will be $100,000 pesos MXN, which is obviously a great attraction for the many pairs of athletes. Notably, the 3-day beach volleyball tournament will be broadcast nationally via cable television.

Prepare your sunscreen and watch this tournament. It will be an excellent opportunity to participate in the international profile that will be given to Puerto Vallarta during these events. Now, more than ever, it is crucial that we remind the world that this Puerto Vallarta remains a welcoming paradise. Admission is free.
