My fiance and I had a super day in early June at El Tigre which is part of the Paradise Village Beach Resort&Golf Club. We stayed at the resort for only three days but enjoyed their fabulous beach when we weren't out on the course.
The El Tigre actually is named after Tigers that are enclosed on the 17th or is it the 16th hole? We were shuttled from the Paradise Village to the club house&pro shop where we rented Taylor clubs. The staff were very helpful and the service was good. The course was beautiful, so much so that we played a second time and I loved the twilight price! Complaining about the price of golf in Vallarta is like complaining about too much green on a golf course.
Anybody priced golf in Cabo?
El Tigre is challenging for a resort course. Yeah the traps are challenging and it is long course but it's in tip-top condition. I last played at Tucker's Point in Bermuda and I'd come down here and play the El Tigre any time.
The Spa facilities on the upper level were inviting.

We played El Tigre in 2007 and went back to play in March 2008. This year they started us out on the back nine, we learned why when we went to hit our second shot on the front. They had just punched and sanded the greens on 1 -9. I don't normally pay $175 USD to play on greens that were just punched. The staff at El Tigre said nothing about this and offered no discounts. I went to the pro-shop after the round and they were unapologetic and had no intention of trying to satisfy our problem, therefore, I will never play at El Tigre again. I expect a golf course to let me know when they have just done major maintenance, sure, we probably would have still played, but there is no way I would have paid full price!

The course allows you to hit the driver off the tee. Some water comes into play off the tee if you really hit it bad . Wide fairways excellent conditions every time I have played the course. The staff is excellent. I have played the course 10 times and look forward to playing again this winter.

This is a GREAT golf course!!!

We find El Tigre to be a great value for the money. The staff is friendly and very hospitable. The course can be tough or easier depending on which of the 5 sets of tees you play from. They also have an attendent who drives around and brings you cold water and chilled towels a number of times a round.

My wife and I have played this course at least a dozen times. We're on our way back down next week and we'll definately get another half a dozen rounds in this vacation.

It really hasn't mattered what time of day we've played, it's never been very crowded. I think in all our rounds we've played I can count on one hand the number of times I've had to wait to be able to hit.

If you're going to Puerto Vallarta or Nuevo Vallarta, give El Tigre a shot - you won't be disappointed.

Conditions are acceptable, however, the cours offers little asthetic views and provides very little to the memory.

As a frequent resort traveler, I like to have "memorable" golf experience - and this one was to forget.

The service and friendliness of staff made it tolerable.

We were not sure what to expect especially playing in Mexico for the very first time. Our round started at the crack of dawn, so we arrived from Vista Vallarta when it was still dark. When the sun came up, we were blown away by the bright green grass on the course and the friendliness of the entire staff. As we played, the scenary was beautiful, the greens were immaculate, and the fairways were not tight. This course rivals some of the best where I live in Scottsdale, AZ.

Great experience just for the palm trees and the views. I'm usually not a big fan of courses that wind through a subdivision, but the mexican style homes actually add to the ambience of the course.
It plays fairly easy, with wide open fairways, although water comes into play a lot. Nice layout, challenging greens and 5 tee options make it playable for all handicap levels. Resort prices however

This course is a blast. We typically visit in September (rainy season)and find it enjoyable since there is typically no more than 6-10 people on the course at any given time. It is as if you have the course to yourself.

This course has LOTS of water holes so bring lots of balls. Also bring bug repellant and sunscreen. Mosquitos are crazy on a couple of the holes but OFF works well for that.

Hot as heck though at that time of year. It is typically 85-90 degrees with 85-90% humidity so it is a sticky proposition not for the faint of heart. Rangers come around with ice cold towels occassionally so that is a definate plus!

The staff there is amazing and friendly.

We have played the course 8 or 9 times and have been impressed every time.

We will keep coming back!
