Editorial review

While the open fairways play well for the recreational golfer, even the most experienced will be challenged by seven lakes, a river and of course the ocean. The stretch of holes #13 and #14 makes your round of golf a very special experience. Hole #13 is a dog-leg par 5 that runs along the Ameca River, it has a breathtaking view of the green and the Pacific Ocean in the background. Hole #14 is the signature hole, a 153 yard par 3 that has the Pacific Ocean on the left side, and a beautiful lake that protects the front and right side of the green.

The course had its' challenging holes and some holes to take advantage of. The greens were a little burned out (Thankgiving holiday) but not enough to detract from the playability of the course. Anytime you play a course for the first time you have to "guess" at where to land your tee shots, how to approach greens, and read putts. The caddy I had that day was phenomenal. He began to "club" me after the first few holes. We picked the right club every time. His green reading helped me shoot a 75 from the tips. He would point to a spot on the green and I would roll the ball over it. (A good tip for golfers with putting problems..pick a spot)

We switched from Flammingos to the Mayan last minute. My girlfriend and I played on a beautiful Saturday morning 830. Our caddie Luis was very helpful with yardage and was very

charming after he woke up. We paid 95 each which I thought was a little steep, but the course was in awesome shape. We had a great time and would do it again next time in PV.
