Brown Pelican
The nearly endangered brown pelican favors the shores of Puerto Vallarta and surrounding areas for it's abundance of fish and prime breeding locations.
Weighing up to 10 pounds, and feeding on up to four pounds of fish a day, the brown pelicans of Vallarta are rarely seen either inland or far out at sea. Just look to the coves, such as Mismaloya, and along the shoreline for these magnificent birds, or better yet, book the Songs of the Bay tour. An extremely professional and educational tour for bird watchers and novices alike. |
