We went to your hotel 3 weeks before check in day and requested not to be put on the highway. GUESS WHERE WE WERE PLACED ON OUR ARRIVAL < YOU WIN A WEEK IN THIS WONDERFUL ROOM ON THE HIGHWAY because you are right .

We asked to be moved at that time but guess what ,no rooms. But at that time a man arrived

with a complaint and guess what he was moved immediatly to a room with view overlooking the pool. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE TRUE REASON WHY.



We had only been in our room long enough to have a shower and before we could get dressed the door opened and in walked a lady and her husband with a bell boy and luggage in tow. Needless to say we were not impressed.



When we tried to have lunch and a drink on the beach the waiter came back after some time and told us we had no credit. When pressed he went to the front desk and found out that we were in fact registerd and did have the reqired credit to buy at the beach facility. When questioned he said it had been a screw up at the front desk. Needless to say it was too late by then. We did't spent one cent at the resort after being embarrassed at the beach.



People tried to reach us by phone and were told we were not registered. They came to look for us and were told we were not registered. They ran into us while on the way out.



There is more but we don't wish to waist anymore time with tis frustration.

I have been going to the Villa del Mar for over 20 years. Quiet and clean and fullof old and new friends. Only complaint has ever been the check-in area. Everything else is great.

We spent Dec 23rd to Jan 2nd at Villa Del Mar and we enjoyed the resort. We rec'd great service from all the staff and we loved the location.

We were at the Del Mar for two weeks last year. Very clean and well decorated rooms - the maid always made special things with towels (swan, elephant) and with the bed cover/pillows. Good food, excellent staff. Loved the Spanish lessons and poolside massages. Will go back there any time. Only thing that bugged me was as soon as you walked into the lobby you were tricked to "visit" the Flamingo Hotel and get a free breakfast. Got there and were harassed to buy time shares and wasted a whole morning and part of the afternoon. My husband was very stressed out by this - they wouldn't let up!

It's more that beautiful there. The beach is pristine. The staff is always courteous and prompt to provide you with your request.

We enjoyed two glorious weeks here last spring break. We will be back.

The room was great for our family of 4 (2 teenagers) The ammenities were also very good. We enjoyed the many activities the hotel offered even though we spent most of our time at the sister hotel, Villa del Palmar. The staff did a great job of cleaning our room daily, and everyone was very friendly. I would recommend this hotel whole heartedly.

We had a wonderful stay. The room was clean. I liked the choice of 2 pools and a beach. One pool is nice and quiet for napping in the shade, the other had more going on. Nice access to taxis or city buses to go downtown. Big grocery store within easy walking distance. Nice workout room with very helpful staff.

We spent our 7 day honeymoon at Villa Del Mar the summer of 2004. Everything was great, except for the beds. I expected regular american matresses in this nice hotel, but they weren't. I would not go back due to this minor detail, which is not minor to me. Otherwise it was very nice.
