This will be our 7th visit and stay at the suites emperador. Obviously we are happy with the hotel and personnel. It is colorful, clean, conveniently located, and we feel quite secure. We do wish that the Lazy Lizard were still in operation -- loved the fun and music and friendly waiters. See you soon!

I had read some negative reviews, but the location and price of the Emperador was right so I though I would give it a try (Nov. 2008)

The negative is that you are not permitted to have any guests in your room, which is demeaning and embarassing.

First time at the Emperador. Wonderful staff, rooms clean. Great location if you want the beach and Old Town experience. Great places to eat in every direction. A bit softer mattresses on the bed would make this better, but we will stay here again.
