The palce to be....

The first trip we made to the Jalisco made us feel as though we had discovered paradise. Everything, from the staff and the services they rendered, to the wonderful food and beautiful grounds, has made it our vacation destination several times. And, hopefully, many more times in the years to come!

Once upon arrival to the Riu Jalisco your greeted with a warm welcome. The staff at the hotel were very attentive and very charming. The food there was excellent. Night life entertainment is a blast. The view of the beach phenomenal. The Riu Jalisco is somewhere I would visit over and over again.

Sun and Fun

We enjoy the beach and the palm trees for shade when we want to just take a nap. We thought the food and service is great, the key to great service at an all-inclusive it to tip. We bring a big bundle of $1.00 bills to give out for tips. They love it and will be very attentive!

The court yard area where the theatre, bar huts and disco in the center makes for a great gathering place to meet people and enjoy the music and atmosphere. So many other resorts are so spread out that there were no main gathering areas. We stayed at the Riu Jalisco in twice and last year made the mistake of staying at the Marival and the Marival is too spread out and no center point of activity or fun.

We will definitely go back to Riu Jalisco again in the future.

We are over 40 and have kids out of the nest so going on vacation is a muched deserved break from Minnesota and work.

Adult Review

The food was superb and staff in the restaurants were very good. The adult pool was un-supervised. It was full of parents who brought their kids into the adult pool area with their pool floatees and the kids were splashing. There is no policing for the adult pool. The pool chairs are few as they are all reserved early in the morning even though the sign says no reserving of chairs. People were putting their beach towels on the chairs and then going back to the hotel. Most of the chairs were taken by kids.

Relaxing vacation

I just came back from the Riu Jalisco resort and had such a wonderful time that I felt obligated to write a review. The hotel offers the best "back yard" of all the facilities in the area with its beautifully manicured grounds and rows of stately palm trees, and has tremendous charm for being such a large resort. The staff were universally friendly and professional, the rooms and public areas were clean and well maintained, and the buffets offered a dizzying array of choices even for picky eaters. The evening shows were worth attending, too. Mexican tourism has recently received some bad press, and at least in the Puerto Vallarta region and at the Riu Jalisco, that press is entirely undeserved.

My family and I stayed there Jan 2008, for one week. The hotel was very nice and the staff were friendly. However it is very far from Puerto Vallarta. In 2 weeks I'll be heading back but has decided to stay in town.
