Know what you are looking forRated:![]() by R hamshaw from Canada Written 6 months ago | Have stayed there two years running and will stay there again this year. Small and very friendly but also very noisy, so bring ear plugs, but that applies to almost everywhere.
Mexico has hard beds and lumpy pillows, so get over it. If you want to stay at the Holiday Inn go there. If you want something a little more akin to a real spanish/mexican experience, stay here. Roof top pool is fantastic! |
A1 ratingby Laura McGarry from CanadaWritten 1 year ago | Small but very clean and comfortable. |
Miserable ExperienceRated:![]() by T. Baehr from USA Written 1 year ago | We had a miserable experience at Posada Roger and bailed out after one night of a four-night scheduled stay. Beds: unusable lumpy pillows. Bathroom: Open panels in door for no auditory privacy. No hot water in the sink (not broken - this was intentional). Toilet that would not flush used toilet paper (warning sign hidden by towels). We were instructed to put used toilet paper into an open wastebasket. Yuk! Ragged bath towels with holes in them; no hand towels. Shower curtain a foot too short; shower would have flooded entire bathroom if we had used it. Even at the "budget" price, this was pathetic. Staff was friendly but seemed puzzled by our dissatisfaction. |
Not for EverbodyRated:![]() by Dan from usa Written 1 year ago | The location is very good. The hotel could use upgrade. Service is good, only got towels no hand towel or wash cloth. The noise can keep you up at night from the Clubs near by. |
Great for the Price but...Rated:![]() by fred from United States Written 1 year ago | Not a luxury hotel but has a fine location . Actually, it could use some major upgrading and renovations. Furniture in my room was getting old. I wouldn't recommend using the flimsy safe deposit boxes. However, the hotel people are always pleasant and give good service. The maid service cleans everyday. The Hotel appears safe. The price is great for Vallarta nowadays |
chris beckemyerRated:![]() by chris from washington, usa Written 1 year ago | stayed at posada roger years ago. so glad to know its still there and getting great reviews. i loved the roof top for simply sitting after dinner and watching the world go by. the breakfast of fresh fruit, beans/tortillas and coffee at tucan was wonderful and well priced. the location is just about the best in pv, walking distance to everything wonderful the city has to offer. and walking at night never felt even a little bit dangerous. thankfully, big martian city hotels and the cruise ship dock are far, far way. in pv, south of the river is the ONLY way to go. |
Good price and serviceRated:![]() by Claudia and Abel Lerma from Canada Written 1 year ago | We stayed at Posada Roger 4 great nights, the place is clean, have good service and location is very convenient (beach is 2.5 blocks away). In the area you can find nice places to eat, have a great coffee, laundry service, etc.
Plus Posada Roger provides free and safe parking, security deposit box (free) and in general the environment is friendly and SAFE.
We do not recommend the restaurant (Tucan) below Posada Roger, the food is not bad but the prices just too high.
However, we recommend a GREAT seafood restaurant named KUMA (3 blocks away: Basilio Badillo #425, corner with Aguacate St). Ask for Jorge or Arturo. The service is simply the best, the food has veeeery good quality and taste, and is not expensive at all. This place is nothing at all like the expensive restaurants closer to the beach.
We are already planning to go back to PV. And we definitively will stay at Roger′s and eat at Kuma's!!

Perfect location, great visitRated:![]() by Dave Zilke from Michigan, USA Written 1 year ago | I spent 5 1/2 weeks in Jan into Feb of 06, couldn't have been happier, nice, comfortable room, nice people, friendly helpful staff, a cross section of friendly visitors from all over. Step out the foyer and be in real, today vacation Mexico. Short walk to the beach past friendly shops to where the action is. Close to real shops where tourists AND locals can be seen. Not the sanitized big buck mega resorts, see real people enjoyig PV --- doesn't get much better than that. |
Great Hotel&LocationRated:![]() by John Written 2 years ago | Upon arriving I asked the desk clerk to put me far away from the dueling roasters that I read about on this web site...she laughed and said don't worry we killed the roasters! I guess she wasn't kidding because I never heard them or any other noice even once. I stayed here in Oct. 2005 I thought I would just try it for a few nights. The room I got had 4 beds in it. 2 beds were firm and the other 2 beds were a bit softer. It was kept very clean and had a ceiling fan and air conditioner that worked great. The shower was good but like many Mexico toilets you have to flush twice. They have a very nice roof top pool and tons of plants of all kinds. The location is just 2 1/2 blocks from the beach and near everything. There is a restaurant down stairs called Freddy Tucans that has a great breakfast menu and most of the breakfast are under 4 bucks. I had the Vallarta pancakes with fresh fruit with whip cream. Wow!
For the price of $37.00 per night you can't go wrong. The girls at the front desk are all great! also, it is just 1 1/2 blocks from bar Paco. I will stay here again next time even longer. Tell Rosie hello for me. John Taylor S.D. Ca,
