I loved this place! There was so much to do! You could play tennis, you could go to the beach, go and swim in the pool, eat at one of the three restaurants, enjoy a show in the park, work out in the gym, and much much more. I loved being able to swim up in the pool, sit on the concrete stool and order a any thing i wanted to drink. If you considering going to Mexico, I highly reccomend Puerto Vallarta and I highly reccomend the Plaza Pelicanos Grand Beach Resort! It is offset from the middle of town next to the beach and has great food, service, and facilities.

Enjoyed our stay

Just returned from Plaza Pelicanos and had a wonderful time. It was our first experience with an all inclusive and were unsure as what to expect. Not sure I will do an all inclusive again, but we were there with adult children and spouses, and was a perfect way to go this time. Food was good, but not alot of variety. Hotel was nice , and well located and staff treated us excellent. Was disapointed in the drinks at the bar. We went elsewhere alot for a drink.

Very good for a budget resort

We stayed at the Hotel in Nov. 2006.We liked the grounds, the service and location. The food was so so, but breakfast was good. Drinks not so good. Keep in mind that there are two sections in this Hotel. 1 and 2. No.1 is not on the beach, no view, small. Section 2 is on the beach and quite nice, with most rooms belonging to time share guests. We think that the hotel is reasonably priced, so we recomend it.

Enjoyed the trip

The kids would party all night, could not get any sleep. Otherwise the hotel was good.

Not so happy this time

We had 2 rooms and 7 people in our party. One of the rooms was reserved using a 4 night coupon from the time share and 3 nights paid by cash; resulting in having to check in and check out twice including moving rooms. The resort advertised multiple restraints and bars, but the truth is that all but 1 of each is under construction and is boarded up. The noise and smell of construction is awful, including wafer being shut on and off. The food is always the same and never changes, breakfast and dinner is okay, but lunch sucks. The staff is not friendly.

Our week visit started Nov 19,2005. Pelicanos is within walking distance to downtown, or a 10 peso coin on the buses indicating CENTRO. We stayed in the older side of the hotel, walking distance to the back corner of the property, and across the street. The restaurant at this off-site location was under renovation, but an alternate make-shift tent restaurant was offered. We went all inclusive and the food was plentiful. The front desk was very courtious and helpful. The Concierge desk promotes a Shell Vacation Club tour - a points based program. You can't even use the points to book a stay in Vegas in the middle of July - no one goes to Vegas in July!

Our trip was in mid-October. The resort was great. We stayed on the older side of the hotel and it was so quiet. We loved that. The downtown beaches are packed with tourist and vendors so I was greatful that we choose to stay further down the shore. Food was great and front desk very helpful. We went all inclusive and the service was excellent. Great views of the ocean and a pool for everyone. Location was great - central - a short ride by bus or taxi to anywhere. Walking distance to small shops or if you need items from the grocery.
