Plaza Pelicanos Grand Beach Resort Category 4 stars

LOVED the service given by the bartenders, especially Alexander and Carlos. Those two made the trip for my boyfriend and I, always cheerful and helpful! We want to travel a lot more in the future, but have trouble thinking of going anywhere else as these two wouldn't be there... haha... they both deserve a good raise and MASSIVE tips if you can afford them, Carlos' Copa de Nada's are amazing, and you can't beat Alexander's Miami Vice's.

Liked the food, basically stuck to the buffet's. Would have liked more time there to experience the a la carte's.

The pool areas were very nice and clean, the beach was fun to run around on but of course is a PV beach not a Caribbean one. No powder-white sand but with all the culture in PV who needs it?
I HIGHLY recommend the Rhythms of the Night tour, a must see, the boyfriend got seasick but still would do it again, it was that good.

Can't wait to go back.

My husband and I just celebrated our 25th anniversary. We always wanted to go back to the Bahamas where we went on our honeymoon. After checking out the Bahamas, we found out the hotel we stayed at was under a different name and got bad reviews. Our 22 year old daughter did some research on the internet starting in May, 2007, searching for a nice place/hotel for us for our anniversary. Well, she made our anniversary the best and most memorable one ever! She loved what she saw on the internet about Plaza Pelicanos and searched and read reviews on practically every sight!
We had the time of our lives! The hotel, staff,service,bartenders, food, our room, the grounds,&activities we attended were all excellent!
We stayed in Section 1, which was wonderful! After waiting so long for a vacation, it was perfect for us. Clean, quiet, friendly, relaxing, one on one attention with the staff and bartenders...it was GREAT! We couldn't have asked for anything more...except to be left alone while site seeing and walking from those "time share" people! Being raised in New York, it comes easy to "walk away" and ignore them while they try to stop you and follow you an entire block. No big deal!
Section 1 was preferred by my husband and myself over Section 2. Section 2, critics claim is better than 1. Not true if you're looking for privacy, one on one attention, quiet and relaxation. We actually had the entire pool for ourselves one day in Section 1! We had our breakfast, walked around and layed by the pool by ourselves...the bartender made sure to refill our drinks constantly...with only an initial $2 tip that afternoon. It was GREAT!!!!!
We intend on returning next year. We would only stay at the Plaza Pelicanos - Section 1! We love you all....thank you so much for the wonderful vacation we waited so long for! The price is excellent and the staff, service, and food...well, you have to see it to believe it!

In the center of the hotel district and close to everything. Time Share owner there and have been very happy for over 8 years going to this resort.

The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. We tipped well and recieved fabulous service.
The section II rooms and pool were great.
The section II buffet was great, and Tamayo (the International Restaraunt) was fabulous!

I only wish that the infinity edge pool (in section II) was for adults only, or for children who were much more supervised. Otherwise it was perfect!

Talk to the guy in the lobby area for some great deals on one-day trips. Snorkeling on the Kontiki was wonderful...it was open bar, free lunch/snack, beautiful fish, and a great time playing volleyball! We also did the zip-lines, and they were a rush, too!
The evening shows were wonderful, even though one was cancelled due to the rain! We were pleased to be escorted to the fun clubs after the theatre shows...don't pass up an offer on vallerta night life!
Relax...and enjoy you're trip! It was wonderful!

We went there in January 2007.The first night when we got our room it was not what we asked for we got 2 double beds and there were 5 of us so one person had to sleep on the marble floor because there was no room for a cot.The next day we asked to switch to a bigger room and they said there were no bigger rooms then finally we talked to the manager and he put us into a timeshare room wich was great!The service was excellent!Every 2nd night they had a dinner show and evry night the had a show on Monday's Wednesdays and Fridays they had a surf and turf wich was not all inclusive but the food was awesome!Make sure to go to the Jacuzzi on the 8th floor of the building in section 2.The view is spectacluar.I would go back any time.

I loved this place! There was so much to do! You could play tennis, you could go to the beach, go and swim in the pool, eat at one of the three restaurants, enjoy a show in the park, work out in the gym, and much much more. I loved being able to swim up in the pool, sit on the concrete stool and order a any thing i wanted to drink. If you considering going to Mexico, I highly reccomend Puerto Vallarta and I highly reccomend the Plaza Pelicanos Grand Beach Resort! It is offset from the middle of town next to the beach and has great food, service, and facilities.
