Stayed at this resort for 14 days, from Dec 01/06. To qualify as 4 1/2 star they need to improve in certain areas.

1. Internet Speed Connection is too slow for the rates they charge (.20 cents USA per minutes) Most of your time is wasted waiting for downloading of information. Either increase the speed (lite Speed) or charge less, this is NOT a HIGH SPEED network. Management knows this as I complained, they added an extra 15 minutes onto my time.

2. The Main Pool areas requires someone to pick up cups, garbage etc. In our 14 days we did NOT see anyone picking up cups, they do after the pool closes 8:00 pm but NOT during the day time. These old cups attract zillions of wasps.

3. The buffet area (El Bosque) needs someone to DUST and clean the chairs. Most of the covering on the seats of the chairs are very dirty (yellow in colour), they also have years of dust on some chairs, especially the ones towards the back of the room.

4. The bed sheets are under sized for the mattress, just cover the matress.

5. The MC at the kids program did an excellent job but needs to speak better english as most Canadian kids did not understand the rules of the games. In other resort they usually have TWO MCs, one for English and one for Spanish. When they do speak Spanish, it's usually at a very high rate. They do have good speaking girls from Canada that could correct this problem ( e.g. Vicki from Ottawa)

6. The nightly entertainment area is posted as a NO SMOKING ZONE but NO one enforces the rules, it's very upsetting to NON SMOKERS. The security people just look at the smokers and walk away.

7. Porto Fino Restaurant was excellent BUT too HOT for eating, they should turn on A/C sooner then 6:00 PM, opening time. Our meal was spoiled due to the extreme heat in the room, we left very quickly

7. On the positive side the following are rated as EXCELLENT, El Bambu, El Mexicano, Rooms were very clean, bar service excellent, meals in buffet very good, lobby very clean, setting is excellent.

8. You would think that with all the Canadians in this resort, they would provide a Canadian news TV channel via satellite, CNN is okay but why not a Canadian Channel. Most of the people were Canadians very few American people. With Satellite Servce today it would be very easy to do and NOT that costly.

9. This is our 11th time in Mexico, e.g true honest 5 Star Resorts, RIU in both Puerto Vallarta and Cancun, Karmina Palace. If they want to be classified as an honest 4.5 Star Resort they need to improve in certain areas. I know it difficult to maintain a big resort with the volume of people but people pay good money and expect the high standards.

In conclusion we enjoyed our stay and the Palladium Resort , not too sure if we will good back, also feel that constructive criticism is good for any firm, gives them a chance to make improvments and this is the main reason why I'm sending this note. A few more people cleaning up is probably the bottom line and better management supervision to increase standards in certain areas.

For the record and management use IF they read this, our room number was 1019, commencing Dec 01/06.

Thanks and I hope this HELPS any future quests

It was all very amazing. A 5 star hotel with a 2 star price! The food was amazing. The beach was amazing. As for the location- it's secluded so it's away from everything- we loved that! (there are no clocks so bring a clock or a watch and keep in mind that there is an hour difference from Puerto Vallarta) I absolutely loved it and will definitely return.
