Mexican Resort at Los Tules Category 5 stars

we have been going to Los Tules and staying in the same unit for 20 years. Our only complaint is the bed is to hard. The restaur. has excellent food,margaritas are awesome and the staff friendly. We have never no felt safe at los tules even when we bring kids.

This resort is deceiving. The nicer and more updated units appear to be those units designated for travelors that have a one week stay. The hotel units for one night, which is where we stayed appeared clean, but you could tell that no money was put into making the unit more modern. All furniture was old, the bathroom had an old shower and vanity. The wall light fixture exposed the light bulb. Air conditioning unit had only one setting--it was too cold. Stairs leading up to the room appeared unstable and old (they were spiral). Door to room was warped and did not fit into the door frame near the top. We did not feel secure as a result of that door. Bed did not have a mattress cover and sheets did not fit over the mattress. Not that we are "germ-a-phobes", but any movement would cause the sheet to move from under us where we would be directly exposed to the mattress.
I do commend the bell boys that hauled our luggage up 3 flights of stairs and then up the rickity spiral stairs to our room. Check In was slow, but check out was fast. The resort grounds was beautiful.
