Melia Category 5 stars
Overlooking the ocean, the picturesque landscaping of Melia Puerto Vallarta is truly charming.

WE WERE HAVING A GREAT TIME THERE.Rated:![]() by SALVADOR CORTES from MEXICO Written 1 month ago | IT`S THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD, SO IT`S LIKE A DREAM COMES TRUE.
IT WAS AN UNFORGETABLE EXPERIENCE WITH MY FAMILY, BECAUSE THE EMPLOYEES OF THIS BEAUTIFUL HOTEL MADE US FEEL LIKE IN HOME. WE`LL HOPE TO COME BACK NEXT VACATIONS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. IF YOU ARE GONNA BE THERE, ENJOY YOUR STAY WITH THEM, AND FEEL LIKE IN HOME. |
We'll be going back!Rated:![]() by Dave from USA Written 2 months ago | We spent four days in Melia and loved it. The staff there was very friendly and attentive. The food was wonderful and the drinks were strong. There were a lot of families at Melia. We took our kids (age 1 and 3) and they both had a great time. The activities staff are fun and have all sorts of great things going on throughout the day. The evening shows are not to be missed. We wholeheartedly recommend Melia to anyone. Our stay was wonderful and we can't wait to go back next year. |
Ms. PickardRated:![]() by Colleen Pickard from Canada Written 5 months ago | We stayed at the hotel for 7 days in September 2007. The staff provided the best service we have ever encountered. They were pleasant, efficient and very friendly. The hotel room was very clean and the restaurant facilities were above expectations.
We will definately be back. |
Fantastic hotelRated:![]() by Moldowan's from Australia Written 6 months ago | We came from Australia, and were wary that the hotel may not live up to expectations, it was fabulous, clean, food very good, service was very good, our room over looking the bay was fabulous, the gardens are kept immacutely . We were there in the start of October and so it was nice and quiet. We had a great waiter Francisco in the buffet restaurant, who really looked after us, (maybe too well), we thought we were the karaoke kings after a few of Francisco's tequila shooters...... great place to stay in P.V. |
Great with KidsRated:![]() by steve smith from england Written 1 year ago | We spent a fantastic fortnight here with out 2 babies - aged 1 and 2. Great service, great location and great sunsets!! |

A Different Melia ResortRated:![]() by Don Hottman Written 2 years ago | We have been to several Melia resorts. This resort has to be the only average resort we have been to. It has tremendous potential but lacks management that cares. The pool was not clean, the grounds were not up to a typical Melia Resort and the condition of the beach chairs, sand around the ocean area was very poor. Our room air conditioner was not working well and the consistent calls concerning timeshares but they do not call them that. They insist they are different. They are vacation clubs, etc. A top resort would not allow this on the grounds. The workers were very friendly and food was average. |
Better than expectedRated:![]() by Diana 06/2005 Written 2 years ago | After reading negative comments about this resort, I was worried that it would be awful. Our party of 6 was generally pleased with the resort. Yes, it could use some fixing up (broken beach chairs, AC barely adequate). The breakfast and dinner buffets were just fair, the lunch buffet was good, the alacarte restaurants were OK but nothing special. The beach was small but OK with a beautiful view of the mountains and city. The vacation club sales people were pesty the first 24 hrs we were there, even calling our room early in the morning, but after complaining at the desk, they never bothered us again. The staff was friendly, our room perfectly cleaned daily. PV is the type of city that beckons you away from your all-inclusive resort anyway so we enjoyed the mountain-side restaurants with the Bay view and terrific sunset. Will definitely try to go back to PV again but not sure I would stay at the Melia. It is a great family resort but if you would rather not have to fight kids for chairs at the pool bar, an adults only resort might be better. |
Not spectacular, but not badRated:![]() by adam in austin texas Written 2 years ago | BE ADVISED... as of JULY 2005 they are constructing a new Condo complex directly north of Melia. Thankfully work crews do not start until 9am, but when they do it's noisy. The complex has open air halls and lobby and the construction could be heard all day (if you stick around the hotel).
IF you're looking for a more adult atmosphere this ain't the place for you.
IF you're looking for a resort with a great beach this ain't the place for you. (In fact most of the hotels in the marina have very rocky beaches.)
HOWEVER... the service was pretty good and the room was pretty good. You are very close to the Vallarta Adventures office and Maritime Terminal (walking distance)... so if you plan on going on their tours its a very convienent location.
Cab to centro was affordable (less than $5 US) Proximity to the airport was a nice plus... when you are ready to start and end your vacation.
OVERALL... the Melia was a 3.5 |
