Ok...Rated:![]() by J from Chicago from USA Written 11 months ago | Went to this resort on my honeymoon. Absolutely beautiful area, and a spacious room. The timeshare pitch in the beginning was annoying, but easy to handle if you know what you're doing. My wife and I got food poisoning from one of the restaurants and were sick for 2 days. Also, there was a dispute over some missing cash from one of our rooms which was never resolved. The resort was way too kid-friendly for our taste, but would be fine for a family. Reading reviews, I believe our experience was unique, but next time in beautiful Puerto Vallarta, I'll be staying down the road a ways. |

BIGRated:![]() by Rhonda from USA, San Francisco Written 1 year ago | Just came back from a week stay in October 07, some days it was so quiet (the bus loads of kids left after the weekend) believe it or not I took the word of our travel agent, It was bigger than I like, the staff are the best, preferred eating in the fancy restaurants, enjoyed cheap massages on the beach, go for a walk towards the marina on the beach and look for the baby turtles they release into the ocean, enjoyed the bikes. Ride to the small mall, too hot to use all the amenities’, quite happy reading and enjoying the shopping on the beach. No fancy shows maybe in the peak times. Good resort |
Trip In 2006by Beaudet Michel from CanadaWritten 1 year ago | We, I and my wife had the privilege to be at the Marival for 7 nights stay in April 2006.
The welcome was very warm from the personnel especially with Paolo at the reception. We remember the day of the arrival at the hotel we had to wait for the room and meanwhile the personnel maid our waiting so cool. The service at each restaurant was great. Also for the service in the room. The accommodations in and out of the hotel were fantastic. For that we give a 5 stars. And we recommend the grand Marival with our eyes closed to any one Michel and Denise from Montréal Québec. Send our regards to the Rizutto family. |
Fantastic timeRated:![]() by Kristi from Canada Written 1 year ago | We stayed in 2000...A lot of improvements/renovations have happened since we were there. We loved the food, the entertainment and the atmosphere. We stayed in one of the towers overlooking the beach....our photos look like post cards. We highly recommend this resort. The only negative comment would be that the horseback riding was a little disappointing because there was no ride on the beach at that time, you rode through a village where the employees of the resort lived....very humbling. Otherwise Fantastic! We will go again. |
Memorable, Stylish&Fun!Rated:![]() by Rocio Valle from USA Written 1 year ago | "Pictures don't do this resort justice. The place is amazing, rooms were Fairmont quality, and food was endless&superb. Gorgeous grounds, nice for walking anytime, beach access is closed (and guarded) at night. Very nice pools. Looking forward to a return visit." |
Satisfied in Seattleby Brett Parmacek from USAWritten 1 year ago | I loved it! So did my two boys 9 and 6. My wife was not so sure and her first impression was not of a 5 star resort. After a day and a half she was already saying, we need to come back. The food at all the restaurants was great. The service better. The staff really take care of you and have fun doing it. We had so much fun 7 days been not enough. Only criticism I had is that the beds are hard. I went to 4 other hotels and they are all the same. I brought this up to the staff and they put two layers of foam on my bed and I was in heaven. Perfect. Only thing better would have been a longer vacation. I am going back. |
The Best!!!Rated:![]() by Verokka Rolndrik from Canada Written 1 year ago | Have travel all over the world, the service, decor and staff was the best I have ever received. This is truly a first class hotel. Great hotel for anyone who want to relax and have a great time. The food was outstanding. We will be back next year. |
Great for familiesby Kimberly from B.C. CanadaWritten 1 year ago | My family (hubby, myself, two kids 7&4) went to this resort the second week of January. The resort is beautiful, clean and the beach was spectacular. My kids had a blast using the boogie boards provided by the resort and spent many hours on the waves of the ocean. The food was pretty good. The buffet was pretty tiresome by the third day. My kids are fussy eaters and lived on vanilla milk, mini fruit loops cereal and French fries from the walk up restaurant at the beach. We found La Bamba restaurant on the beside the beach where the kids pool was by far the best food for our family. They have more westernized food. The rooms were okay, nothing spectacular but clean and the beds sucked. We were moved to another room because we were right beside a mop room and above the air conditioner. The drinks were good, my husband never complained, lol. My kids loved the kid’s pool, water slide and froggy slide. The weather was great, the mood was fantastic and we plan on going again at the same time in 2008. I hear the beds are being changed...lets hope so if there was any major complaint it would be the beds. Also, for families with fussy children, bring along some food favorites that is allowed thru the boarder as it is a long week when your child won't eat the food they have there. Even the yogurt tastes just a bit different...trust me the kids know when things just are not right, parents you know what I mean.....have fun, this resort is great for families....would not recommend to singles or to honeymooners....more of a family atmosphere. |
We Love MarivalRated:![]() by Pauline Geller from USA Written 1 year ago | This was our first stay in (PV) as well as Marival. Just returning home Jul 18, 2007. This resort is a 5 star facility and service everywhere is simply excellent. We visited El Palomar de Los Gonzales, an incredible restaurant high in the hills above Puerto Vallarta (a block or two from Liz Taylor’s home). You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. The view at sunset and into the night is incredible. We will definitely return to Marival again. The Restaurants in the hotel are the best, the people in The Mexican One are fabulous, and they are very kind and so fun. We can wait to be there again. |
