KrystalRated:![]() by Beau Hall from USA Written 2 years ago | My wife and I booked NH Krystal through Vallarta online. What a great website. As for the hotel here's what we thought:
The facilities are a bit old and they are doing a lot of remodeling around the place (which means noise in the mornings). We had some grubs in the bathroom in the mornings (worms that are becoming insects) which led my wife to wear her sandals while going to the bathroom. The maids cleaned them out every day but they were back in the mornings. When we first arrived they put us in a room that hadn't been cleaned so they had to come and move us. Here's a tip for all travelers anywhere in Mexico: They meet you in the lobby and the airport to sign you up for timeshare tours. DON'T DO IT. Just walk by them. They will pester you but when they see you won't talk to them they will leave you alone for the rest of the trip. At the airport they steer you to what they make you think is a shuttle service counter. Walk by it and go to the big sign by the exit that says,"TAXI," and pay for the taxi there. Then walk out and get in your cab. You miss all the timeshare things. Back to the hotel: Dislikes: All inclusive have to sign food and drink slips at all the restaurants even though you don't have to pay for them. This puts pressure on to leave tips. In Cancun all-inclusive folks don't have to sign so you don't have pressure to tip. General food wasn't very good. I ate at the pool bar everyday where you can get hotdogs, pizza, and burgers. That was the most normal food you could get. The Japanese restaurant was very good too but that was only for dinner. Most of the people at the resort are not all-inclusive so you have trouble finding drinking friends. I like to drink beer all day in the sun but drinks are so expensive for non-inclusive that no one drinks down there. In Cancun everyone is all inclusive so it's much more of a fun atmosphere. Things we like: Tequila pool volleyball Manuel, the events coordinator, was a blast. He is great. He almost single handed made the trip fun. Playing pool volleyball with him was great. He also did beach volleyball. You'll love this guy. The other event person was Teresa and she wasn't much fun at all. She was much more about kids having fun so when she ran volleyball there was no tequila, and when Manuel ran volleyball she kept trying to stop Manual from getting more tequila (big negative in my book). The pool was nice and the bartender at the pool bar (the small one) was nicknamed, "chaincho." He was a great guy and we had a lot of fun talking with him. Over all we had a good time but we will go to Cancun or somewhere on the Gulf from now on. The water is beautiful and the all-inclusive are better. Plus you can actually use the all-inclusive water sport equipment because of the nice water. Have a great trip! Beau and Amber. |

Mexican American Touristby Xyz Tloollcs from United StatesWritten 2 years ago | The problem we had at the Krystal is how bad the employees treated us. They completely ignored us&never took our order. They treat Latino tourists worst than Americans treat Mexicans in the U.S.
While they treated the gringos like they were royal family. The gringos did not tip all that well or at all, they still traeted them the same. We are Latinos that often visit Puerto Vallarta but have never been treated worst anywhere. We tip very, very well for good service. The problem is they look at us and treat us low life peasants. They assume we will not so ignore us. The Krystal's slogan should be "If you're white, you're alright". If you're a Latino, we don't want you around. While the U.S. has strick rules about racial discrimination, Mexico and their businesses have along way to go on this subject. |
SPRING BREAK 2007by brooke from USWritten 2 years ago | I stayed at the NH krystal for my senior year spring break trip in april of 2007. It was seriously the best trip of a lifetime, all the people who work at the krystal are the nicest people ever. The bartenders are halarious and i had an amazing time. Everything is really clean and beautiful. They are all working their best just to accomodate you as a customer. I really felt like it was a second home... i miss it so much. If i had to recommend a place for anyone it would he here!!! |
Totally Unsatisfactory VisitRated:![]() by lester ideker jr (1 comment) ![]() from United States Written 2 years ago | I and my wife recently had a very, very unpleasant stay at the NH Krystal Hotel property. I will never again stay at an NH Hotel property. If it had not been prepaid, we would have checked out after our first experience with the room safe and television "repair." Then when we checked out there were "phantom charges" on our invoice to include a cellular call that the hotel staff had made to the Operations Manager when I had requested to speak to him and the staff was trying to locate him. I never did speak to him on the phone. Later I asked to speak to the hotel General Manager, I was told that was impossible because he was to busy to handle minor problems.
The room safe was locked when we arrived in the room. The security staff arrived more than 30 minutes after initially called to open it. I later determined the room safe was malfunctioning and staff had to be called every time I wanted it opened. While most of the television channels were clear, several including CNN-I were not. While I was out of the room, maintenance rectified the problem by making only the clear channels accessable. Therefore, CNN-I was no longer snowy, it was not accessable! There were issues with the mini bar and room water that were issues at checkout. I know mistakes can be made but the series of mis-steps seem to be a consistant pattern of intentional wrong doing. The 5 Star rating is very misleading. The facility has 5 Star potential but is operating at a 2 Star level. I would never stay at the NH Krystal again. |

absolutely yes!by Danita Carrier from CanadaWritten 2 years ago | I took my daughter and her boyfriend to NH Krystal for a 14 day stay at the end of March. On the very first night there, I broke my foot and ended up in my room for the first 2 days of my stay. When i finally ventured out, the waiters at Las Velas were absolutely superb. They made sure that I was taken care of, and that my foot was on ice at all times because i was too stubborn to get it casted! I am very appreciative for all that the wonderful staff at NH did for me to make my stay the best ever...even on a broken foot!!! I miss everyone there...and I am currently in the process of booking another visit!! I can't wait to go back!! |
Great Place for true MexicoRated:![]() by Louise Matthews from USA Written 2 years ago | Be sure to go into town and take advantage of the great tours around the Bay. Enjoy true Mexico. |
beenthereby Carol from United statesWritten 2 years ago | We recently returned from a wedding at Krystal. Upon checking in, we had to argue with the concierge about scheduling a two hour meeting with lunch or dinner as an extra feature.{we were allinclusive} When we were taken to our room by cart, it was three stories up in the old part. I am disabled and they were told this. There were knobs missing off the furniture, drawers that wouldn't close,a large mold spot in the bathroom and stains on the floor. The next day, we went back to the front desk and requested a new room on the ground floor and told of the problems with our room, which I am sure they were already aware of.
We were then given a new villa, stayed for a week and everything was perfect in everyway. The wedding was just as the sun set on the beach, and very beautiful. The bartenders and waiters were very much fun and courteous.
The food was outstanding. The bar hours could have been longer. The grounds were immaculate and it was not crowded. We will always stay here in the future and recommend it. |
don't go thereRated:![]() by Anonymous Written 2 years ago | A/C was terrible. We stayed in the 2 room suite with our own pool. The bath tub was clogged and took 2 days to get repaired. The air did not work properly. Service was terrible . Our personal swimming pool had a return jet missing and the filter could not be used. So we could not use it. All inclusive service and meals were just cheap and horrible. Don't go there...not even one star. |
