In 2006 it was Toro De Oroby Gene Torres from USAWritten 1 year ago | It was nice and has since changed management/name. I liked it then and it looks much the same from the pictures... Prices have went up considerable as I am going there again this time... It has a really nice location and the staff is very friendly... The restaurant has good food and friendly waiter(s)... It was really good time and I enjoyed it... |

Location Location LocationRated:![]() by Rob Tyrrell (1 comment) ![]() from USA Written 1 year ago | A clean, perfectly acceptable place in a FANTASTIC location - right between Garbo's&Kit Kat, and a 5-minute walk to Blue Chairs.
What to avoid: don't let them stick you on the first floor (they did that to EVERYONE I was travelling with). Insist on a room on a higher floor immediately. Perpetually-empty bar attested to the watery&expensive drinks. Beds are VERY hard, but those of us with bad backs liked 'em. Staff is of varying levels of intelligence, but always friendly. Name change must be pretty recent, because most cab drivers still knew it by its old name, Torreo de Oro. |

Nice place but a bit priceyRated:![]() by Hoseh from Canada Written 1 year ago | We stayed at this hotel in Dec'06. It has been recently renamed and branded as a gay hotel, so is not well known yet... the staff is friendly and they try to accomodate any request. The rooms are clean and spacious, but the mattresses are not too comfortable. The Restaurant only works until 8PM which is a downer. The location is great just a block from the beach and few blocks from all the bars and restaurants. Would consider staying here again despite most of the rooms face the pool and not the ocean (something the architect must have thought about but he didn't). |
Noby Paul Boos from CanadaWritten 1 year ago | My stay was great but the beds are to hard. The Bartenders way overcharge for drinks you are better off going elsewhere it's cheaper. The staff is very freindly. The Hotel is over priced and needs renovations. The pool is always cold and is in the shade most of the day. |
a great alternative to other gay PV hotelsRated:![]() by mark leininger (1 comment) ![]() from United States Written 1 year ago | new to the scene, this hotel recently caters to gay clientel. the staff is gracious, rooms are very clean and the location is very close to the beach and food options. it does not require week stays during holidays, which is great. The only rooms that seem less than very nice are the 6 or so rooms that face the pool on the 1st floor. room 204 is a lovely suite shown in the photographs and has a very generous terrace. |
Clean and reasonableRated:![]() by Traveler lover from Canada Written 2 years ago | Although during my stay it was still known as the Torre de Oro (a straight hotel) I found it even then to be very gay friendly. The best things about this place are the cleanliness, the views and the location, all of which were amazing. The worst things were the resturant bar, which had a very limited menue and drink capability, and the beds which were rock hard. Overall I enjoyed my stay, and for those on a tight budget, it was very good. |
