Hola Puerto Vallarta Hotel.....5 star HotelRated:![]() by William&Carol...Toronto from Canada Written 23 days ago | Our first time to Mexico.
We spent the month of February (30 days), 2008 at this hotel. We had a wonderful time.
The staff were excellent. They bent over backwards and literally catered to the Guests. Not once did we hear a single person complain about their job.
For a 19 year old hotel, it is immaculate and is in impecable condition.
The rooms are large with a lot of closet space.
The scenery is beautiful from your balcony where you can look out into the Bay, and watch the whales swim past.
The food was exceptional. Management go out of their way to have different themes for the guests,...one night Spanish Night, another night barbecue on the beach, the gourmet restaurant in the hotel, the outside restaurant on the roof where you can eat and watch the whales in the Bay. The special dinner on the beach where you order from a menu. The special invitation to dine at the Le Petit Gourmet Restaurant, next door to the hotel.
If this does not make you happy...you are heading to the wrong hotel.
If a special event is taking place, (national sports etc.) Management would go out of their way to set up a large television screen in the lobby so the guests could view the event.
Warm finger towels are handed out to the guests to wipe their face and hands, daily.
There is a laundromat around the corner from the hotel.
There are grocery stores within walking distance and a couple of Malls.
It takes 10 minutes to get to Malacon (downtown Puerto Vallarta - Boardwalk), by bus.
The docks where the ships come in is 5 minute walk from the hotel.
We had an absolutely wonderful time and plan returning again.

good timesRated:![]() by Ritcey from Canada Written 3 months ago | Great staff I will be back |
Great the first time, Not so much the second timeRated:![]() by Chris from Canada Written 4 months ago | I attended this hotel in May of 2006 and it was an absolutely amazing stay! The service was wonderful and the facilities were a lot of fun!
However, we stayed here in May of 2007, and the hotel seemed to have done a complete 360. It was very different from the year before, the service was not as good, none of the restaurants were open (only the buffet by the pool) and the "open bars" told us that we had to stop drinking and go back to our rooms at nearly 12:00am. I would recommend this hotel if you are going for a week long vacation, however staying for 2 weeks things can get old, such as the food, and the staff is a little cranky. When we were leaving the hotel, they had told us there was a "stain" on the bedsheets, a small blue dot. We had not put this on there, there was nothing we had that could have made this spot. They demanded we had to pay for the "stain" and buy new bedsheets (keep in mind this was 10 minutes before we had to leave for the airport to go home). How do they know it's a stain if they haven't even washed the sheet? The front desk staff then seemed to "pretend" like they didnt understand what we were saying, and still demanded $75 Canadian dollars for the sheets... They said we are not allowed to leave until the sheets are payed for. This is when we got very concerned, and due to the rush, we just gave in and payed for the sheets so we could go home... That would be the only complaint I have regarding the hotel. the front desk staff needs to adapt proper customer service skills. |
LOOVE IT!!Rated:![]() by Lindsey Gunter from Canada Written 4 months ago | This was my first all inclusive. I went with five other family memebers and we had a great time! The activities staff was so much fun! They kept us busy playing volleyball and water polo. The rooms were nice, not fabulous, but, the only time you go to your room is to sleep, right? The food was pretty good. I would reccomend this hotel to most everyone I know. AWESOME!! Again, loved the staff!! |
Excellent Vacation -I'd go again in a heartbeatby Tuddenham, Deborah from CanadaWritten 4 months ago | Just left the Hola on Feb 8th&I would go back anytime. It is an awesome resort, beautiful beach and oceanview from the room. The staff are very happy&friendly always joking and singing, you can tell they truly enjoy working at the Hola and treat each other like family.
The resort was very clean &within walking distance of the Malecon (downtown boardwalk)& Marina. You cant beat sitting on your deck with your coffee seeing wide open ocean view with Whales playing right in front of the resort. Better than Cancun, miss it already. |
Had A great timeRated:![]() by Sharon Christensen from Canada Written 5 months ago | Had a great time at this hotel. The staff are amazing.Supper buffet was average, but the hotel cleanliness was great. Staff were exceptional and the location is awesome. Would go back. |
HorribleRated:![]() by Barbara from USA Written 5 months ago | I would rate this the worst vacation of my life. The first time I had to check out early (no fefund) because conditions were so horrible. Between bugs, bad food and unacceptable staff attitude, what else can I tell you. Do not believe the pretty pictures and false propaganda. Don't repeat my mistake. There are many other nice hotels in PV. |
Very Very Poorby Bob from USAWritten 5 months ago | What a horror. Things were so bad, we checked out early with no refund or apology. Bugs, sickening food, dated and broken facilities. The list goes on. A nightmare. Do not repeat our mistake. |
Great Hotel Great CityRated:![]() by D, Mattern from Canada Written 5 months ago | We just got back from PVR and a great stay in the Hola Puerto Vallarta Club and Spa. Although this is an older hotel it is in a great location and has been kept in great shape. The rooms and hotel in general were so clean that I dare say one could eat off the floors. The staff was so friendly and seemed genuinely happy in the performance of their duties that it made us feel right at home. I have absolutley nothing negative to say about the Hola. I would go back in a heart beat. Thank you Hola PVR and Staff for a great time. |
Nice if you are on a budget!!Rated:![]() by Beth from USA Written 6 months ago | The staff is the best part of the hotel, they are AWESOME!! They make me want to go back.
The Hola is just run down and needs a face lift. Our room was pretty used and abused, but the cleaning service did an excellent job everyday to keep it clean. I was scared when I first walked into the room, but got used to it and by the end of the week was walking around bare foot. The food was okay, the breakfast is the best by far. We loved the egg/pancake/french toast station. I am a health nut and I could always find something not fried at every meal. Always fresh fruit and salad making stuff. The buffet does get old, but it is tons cheaper than going out to dinner every night. Loved the wine at the buffet dinners. The 'nice' Italian restaurant was very good and a nice change. The salmon was fresh and tasty. |
