A beautiful place to rest. Friendly staff. The service was great!

Our visit was for 6 days in May. Our casita was decorated in a bright and comfortable combination of restful blues and bright Mexican colors. The refrigerator had fresh bread, sweet butter and milk, and the coffee was delicious. Our cottage was at the top of rows of cottages that spilled down the cliff, and our huge porch had a panoramic view of the bay and beaches. We came to Careyes to see polo, and that was great. Good fast polo on great fields. May, down towards Manzanillo can be hot. At Caryes the days were comfortable, but we slept under light blankets at night. We tried several restaurants near the hotel, and all wer good. Il Crocodil was the most exotic, with oriental menu and the best martinis I have ever had in Mexico. The setting is so friendly that the guests are all freindly too, which made our visit an outstanding vacation.

Housecleaning stole an ipod, $110 in cash from both wallets, two gold rings, a gold necklace, makeup, a purse and Earl Grey tea bags. Go figure. No safe is in the room. The room was locked at all times. Lantana restaurant is so mediocre in quality and the prices are ridiculous. Snapper alone costs $85 USD! So much police presence there at the resort that it is a joke considering all the theft! All in all it's visually pretty but there are far more beautiful and chic places in the world. Don't believe the hype.
