Exceptional Resort - Beautiful, Wonderful StaffRated:![]() by Ellen&D.I. Aitken from Saskatchewan,Canada Written 10 months ago | We have been going to Puerto Vallarta for 8 years and Playa Del Sol Grand is be far the best Resort in Nuevo. We have owned a timeshare at Mayan Palace and we presently own at Velas Vallarta and Playa Del Sol Grand. Playa Del Sol is the best Resort by far to own or just travel to in Nuevo Vallarta. We have been at this Resort for the past three trips. We have had great rooms, great service and lots of fun. It is far from town but the bus service is great and it is only 10 minutes from Bucerias. Great beach area, wonderful infinity pool. The best part of Playa Del Sol Grand is the staff. They are very friendly and helpful. They are also lots of fun. Playa Del Sol Grand is the place to stay in Mexico. |
Nice, but...by Robert from USAWritten 10 months ago | We moved to the Grand after staying at the other Playa del Sol for 1 night. On the website it is hard to see a difference, but don't be fooled. We enjoyed the Grand, the pool is great as is the food at Kelley's. The palapas on the beach were fun to relax under. The rooms are clean&nice, through closer to 4 stars not 5. The Italian restaurant is okay, like another reader said-you're in Mexico not Rome.
Now for the bad. They will try to get you to do the timeshare presentation at every junction. The 15 % off card is the carrot they put in front of you. The concierges are a joke-they just push the timeshare on you&couldn't even give me directions to the canopy tour. A nice place with some flaws. |
Nice place!Rated:![]() by Jose from USA Written 10 months ago | My wife and I had a great time, but we tried to not eat at the hotel because it was so expensive. I had a rental car so it was easy to go down town and enjoy the restaurants located in Vallarta’s boardwalk. The best time to go to the boardwalk is at night or late afternoon when the sun is not as hot. I kind of felt that the hotel could have done some night activities like the hotel next door. The hotel next door had dancers and a buffet on the beach. The setup was very nice and all the people seem to be having a great time. The people working in Playa Del Sol Grand were very polite and helpful. |
My reviewRated:![]() by Chris Louchios from usa Written 11 months ago | The accommodation's we very nice , however the personal and the service were sub standard. |
Mr ErwayRated:![]() by james erway from US Written 1 year ago | We enjoyed the resort, Italian Resturant exceptional. Room was so-so, but there is better ones there. The only thing is the location, if you want to just lay on the beach or around the pool its great. To go into town is about $ 15.00 US each way. Lots of beach to walk and walk and walk on. Small village about a 45 minute walk up the beach, has a small Market there, lots to buy. |
By LeahRated:![]() by Leah Written 2 years ago | We visited PDSG in February 2005. We loved it. It was quite a distance from PV but a wonderful place to go if you want to just relax. It was quiet at nights and the staff were very friendly and helpful. One afternoon as we sat in the beautiful infinity pool, we were graced with a performance by a visiting group of whales and dolphins. It was amazing. The hotel is so beautiful and the rooms were deluxe for a reasonable price. Very child friendly(though we left our 2 year old at home) we would definitley come again and bring him.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who wants the beauty of the white beaches of Mexico and the atmosphere of an upscale place to stay and enjoy! |
something missingRated:![]() by bill Written 2 years ago | fully eguipped kitchen missing wine glasses, had a oven but no roaster.Chairs uncomfortable. No icecube trays and no ice machine in halls.Take american dollars but give only pesos for change.Refuse to change U.S.large bills for smaller U.S. money.
Great grounds excellent staff but mgmt geared exclusively to the dollar.
very noisy all night party adjacent to resort that staff and local police seemed to ignore.

ParadiseRated:![]() by Ryan Written 2 years ago | The PDSG was beautiful. Away from the crowds and polluted waters of Downtown, the beach is much cleaner and the landscaping is like something out of a wonderful dream.
The construction noise was a bit annoying but they tried to keep it reasonable. Prices in the italian restaurant were a little high but the food and service were great.
Unless you want to buy a timeshare, don't bother with the presentation. It DOES NOT take 90 minutes. It's closer to 3 hours and the carrot they dangle to get you there is a paper card for 15% off on food and drinks at the resort. Only you don't receive it retro-actively to the start of your trip, only when you present it to the waiter (try that at the swim up bar).
If you do go you'll be asked to buy a $75,000 timeshare and for the "privilidge" of buying their timeshare you have to use their financing at 17%. Yeah right.
This is not a singles resort nor a party resort, if you want peace and quiet with beautiful facilities come here...you won't want to leave. |
LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVENRated:![]() by Benson bunch Written 2 years ago | Have vacationed with our family twice at PDSG and have loved it each time. True the place is growing and there is construction but it has never bothered us. The wonderful staff and atmosphere make up for it. The food is great the activity directors fun, the beach is the best in the bay, and accomodations have always been excellent. Enjoy this place now before the whole side of the bay is filled in with monster resorts and it just becomes another chunk of Nuevo. Time share has not been a problem, if you want to see pressure go to Paradise Village! PDSG has become our second home and we can't say enough good about it. |
